Come and Celebrate Tree's 35th Anniversary with Wine and Cake and 2015's Hot Ottawa Voices.

Each year Tree hosts an evening to recognize new and talented upcoming writers.

Karen Massey

Karen Massey's work include found and erasure poetry

Karen Massey lives in Ottawa, between the canal and the river. Her work has
received prizes and has appeared in print publications and a number of anthologies, including Decalogue: Ten Ottawa Poets (Chaudiere Books). 

Her erasure poetry has appeared in print in publications including Inky Needles, and The Bukowski Erasure Poetry Anthology (Silver Birch Press) and online at sites including Inky Needles, Silver Birch Press, Bywords and
ottawater.

Her second chapbook, Strange Fits of Beauty & Light: Erasure Poems from
Archibald Lampman’s Sonnets is from above ground press (2014).

During National Poetry Month, April 2015, she is one of the official
participants in the PoMoSco project at the Found Poetry Review
(www.pomosco.com).

Susan Atkinson

Susan's poems have appeared in The Antigonish Review, Bywords, The Dalhousie Review, Whetstone, The White Wall Review and Room.
Susan J. Atkinson's poems have appeared in numerous journals including Arc Magazine, The Dalhousie Review, Room, Whetstone, The White Wall Review, Bywords and ottawater 12 and 13. In 2015 she was named one of the Hot Ottawa Voices and in 2016 she won The Carleton University Literary Competition, Honourable Mention in the Diana Brebner and her manuscript The Marta Poems was shortlisted for both The 2016 Tree Chapbook Competition and Exile's 2016 Gwendolyn MacEwen. Susan has new work forthcoming in The New Quarterly.
