Jean Van Loon’s first poetry collection, Building on River, was on the bestseller list of Books on Beechwood for 2018 and received favourable notice in Artsfile, The Ottawa Citizen, Michael Dennis’s Today’s Book of Poetry, and Catherine Owen’s Crowgirl11. Recent poetry has appeared in Arc, Juniper, and Barren magazines and is forthcoming in the Queen’s Quarterly. Her stories have appeared across Canada and in the Journey Prize anthology. A life-long resident of Ottawa, she often draws inspiration from the city’s history and varied environments— and her three grandchildren.

Sarah Feldman

The Half-Life of Oracles charts with lucidity and intensity the cross-pollination of memory and myth.
Sarah Feldman’s poems have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including Literary Review of Canada, The New Quarterly and Undercurrents: New Voices in Canadian Poetry. Her first collection, The Half-Life of Oracles, was published by Fitzhenry and Whiteside in Fall 2018. She is currently working on a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Ottawa.
